Dr Duyen Nguyen

Research Fellow Contribution to WP 4 & 5

Duyen Nguyen is a public health researcher with academic training spanning from her undergraduate studies to her current postdoctoral work. Her research focuses on non-communicable disease (NCD) prevention policies and their associated risk factors—smoking, alcohol consumption, and obesity—with a particular emphasis on cancer sciences. Her work integrates biostatistics and health economics, drawing on administrative data, large-scale surveys, and longitudinal datasets to generate evidence that informs public health policy and practice.
She has over eight years of experience working in diverse settings across Vietnam, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. And her research has contributed to several national-level health initiatives in Vietnam, including the development of tobacco and sugar tax policies, the creation of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) guidelines for the Ministry of Health, and national strategies for breast cancer screening and treatment. She has also worked as an independent consultant for global health organizations such as the World Health Organization (WHO), World Bank, and UNICEF, further strengthening her experience in international health policy.
